Fees
How much does financial advice cost at Channel Wealth?
At Channel Wealth, your first conversation with Rory is free and takes about 20 minutes. If we’re the right fit, we quote a fixed fee for your Statement of Advice before any work starts. Ongoing advice is a fixed annual fee, paid monthly, agreed in writing and reviewed each year. We don’t take commissions on investments. Channel Wealth is an Australian practice in Cronulla, NSW.
How we charge
We believe you should know what advice costs before you commit to anything. Every fee is quoted in writing before work begins, and nothing is put in place until you have agreed to it.
| Stage | What it is | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| First conversation | A chat about your goals and whether we’re the right fit | Free |
| Statement of Advice | Your written strategy and recommendations | Fixed fee, quoted up front |
| Implementation | Putting the recommendations in place | Included / quoted in your SoA |
| Ongoing advice | Regular reviews and advice as life changes | Fixed annual fee, paid monthly |
What the first meeting costs
Nothing. We use it to understand where you are, what you want to achieve and whether advice will add more value than it costs you. If it won’t, we’ll tell you.
What a Statement of Advice includes
Your Statement of Advice (SoA) is the written plan we prepare for you. It sets out your goals, our recommendations, the reasons for them, the risks, and every cost involved. You read it, ask questions, and decide whether to go ahead.
Ongoing advice
Most of the value of advice comes from keeping the plan working as life changes. Ongoing advice includes regular reviews, adjustments to your strategy and access to Rory when a big decision comes up. It is agreed in writing, renewed each year, and you can stop at any time.
What we don’t charge
We don’t take commissions on investments or charge a percentage of your portfolio. If any product we recommend pays a commission, it will be disclosed to you in writing before you proceed.
How our fees are disclosed
Our Financial Services Guide explains how we and our licensee, Spark Advisors Australia (AFSL 380552), are paid. Your SoA sets out the exact fees for your advice.
FAQs
Common questions
Is the first meeting really free?
Yes. The first conversation is free and there is no obligation to go further. It’s a chance to talk through your goals and decide whether we’re the right fit for each other.
Why a fixed fee rather than a percentage of my investments?
A fixed fee is agreed up front and doesn’t rise just because your balance does, so you know exactly what you pay and what you get for it.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. Ongoing advice fees can be paid monthly.
Can I stop ongoing advice?
Yes. Ongoing arrangements are agreed in writing and renewed each year, and you can end them at any time.
Is Channel Wealth the same firm as Channel Wealth LLC in the USA?
No. We are an independent Australian practice in Cronulla. Fees published by overseas firms with a similar name do not apply to us.
