Financial planning for Sutherland Shire families
Looking for a financial adviser for your family in the Sutherland Shire? Channel Wealth is a Cronulla advice practice led by Rory D’Agostino. We help families who earn well but feel they aren’t getting ahead to organise cash flow, pay down debt, invest, and build assets and passive income. Advice is ongoing and adapts as your life changes. Meet in Cronulla or by video.
Who it’s for
-
Two incomes, a mortgage and kids, and a feeling you should be further ahead by now
-
You’re earning well but can’t say where the money goes each month
-
You want to upgrade the home, fund school fees and still invest
-
You want one plan that covers super, debt, investing and the family’s future
Getting ahead when life is full
Careers, kids, a mortgage, health, the next holiday. Most families we meet are doing a lot right, yet feel they should be further ahead. The problem is rarely income. It’s that every decision is made on its own, without a plan joining them up.
We start with what you actually want. Not vague ambitions, but concrete targets: when you want the mortgage gone, what school fees will cost, when one of you might step back from work. Then we build the plan that gets you there.
What a family plan covers
- Cash flow. A clear picture of what comes in and goes out, and a system that makes saving automatic rather than whatever is left over.
- Debt. How to pay the mortgage down faster, and whether any debt could be structured more efficiently.
- Super. Contributions, consolidation and making sure both partners’ super is working, not just the higher earner’s.
- Investing. Building assets outside super so you have options before retirement age.
- Big decisions. Upgrading the home, buying an investment property, starting a business, taking parental leave.
- Your children’s future. Planning for school and university costs without derailing everything else.
Advice that grows with you
A family’s situation changes every year. A promotion, a new baby, a change of school, an inheritance. That’s why our advice is ongoing. We review the plan with you regularly and adjust it as life moves, so it keeps working rather than sitting in a drawer.

My wife and I have been working with Rory for a number of years. We were making good money but felt we weren't getting ahead. He has been extremely helpful in helping us set up property investments, understanding our cash flow and putting our money to good use. We have seen a noticeable increase in assets and feel like we are making good progress longer term. Would highly recommend!

Common questions
What age is a good time to see a financial adviser as a family?
Most families we meet are in their thirties and forties, in their peak earning years with a mortgage and young children. That is when good decisions about cash flow, debt and investing have the longest time to work, but there is no wrong time to start.
We both work and life is busy. How much time does this take?
Very little of yours. After the first conversation we gather the detail, do the modelling and bring you clear recommendations. Meetings can be by video in the evening or in person in Cronulla.
Do you only work with families in the Sutherland Shire?
Most of our clients live in the Shire, from Cronulla and Caringbah to Miranda, Sutherland and Menai. We also work with families elsewhere in Australia by video.
